30 weeks into her pregnancy with her second child, Jessica had unknowingly experienced a prelabor rupture of membranes (PROM). A few days later at a routine doctor's appointment in Liberal, KS, the issue was discovered, and she was taken to the hospital and transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita shortly after.

Because she could go into labor at any time, Jessica has been at Wesley since mid-December to ensure her safety and the health of the baby. If she does not go into labor earlier, she will be induced when the baby has reached 34 weeks, on January 6, 2020. In the meantime, Jessica is confined to her hospital room unless in a wheelchair.
This has meant that she and her husband Joel, as well as their 16 month-old daughter Bree, have spent a lot of time apart. Frequent travel to and from Wesley during the holidays as well as the logistics of child care and maintaining daily routines for Bree have been a significant challenge.

Although Jessica and the baby are both healthy, her extended stay at Wesley, medical care and monitoring, birth procedure, and NICU stay for the baby after birth will mean a lot of financial stress on the young family.
We praise God and give our sincere thanks to friends and family who have already given their time and money to help these three, and we look forward to welcoming a new member of the family and the joy he will bring.
