On the evening of Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, during dinner service, a devastating fire broke out at the building that houses The Alden in Chamblee. Thankfully, all guests and staff evacuated safely, and no one was injured.
At this time, the building remains closed and inaccessible due to severe structural damage and ongoing safety inspections. While the timeline for recovery remains uncertain, our immediate focus is supporting the incredible team of hospitality professionals who make The Alden what it is.
My name is Jared Hucks, and I am the owner and chef of The Alden. This fund was created solely to support our employees during the temporary closure and interruption of work caused by the fire.
Many of our staff members rely on nightly service income and tips, and this unexpected situation has created immediate financial uncertainty for them and their families. Funds raised through this campaign will be distributed directly to members of The Alden team to help offset lost income and provide support during this difficult period.
Over the years, our community has shown tremendous love and support for The Alden, and we are deeply grateful for the messages, outreach, and offers to help that have already come in.
If you are able to contribute, thank you. If not, simply sharing this page and keeping our team in your thoughts means more than you know.
