Our hearts are broken as we share the passing of our beloved Hugo.

Hugo was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He was also a loyal friend to so many. He had a huge sense of humor, a deep love for baseball, and a passion for golfing and playing the saxophone. His warmth, laughter, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

More than anything, Hugo loved being a dad. His son Bennett was his world — his reason to fight so hard every single day in the hospital. Even through the most difficult moments, Hugo’s love for his family never wavered. He was selfless, gentle, and always put his loved ones before himself. His strength, courage, and devotion to his wife Vanessa and son Bennett were nothing short of inspiring.

Though Hugo’s time here was far too short, his love, light, and legacy will forever live on through Vanessa, Bennett, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to support the Alarcon family as they navigate this unimaginable loss — to help with medical and funeral expenses, and to give them the space to grieve and heal.

Hugo fue un esposo, padre, hijo, hermano y tío devoto. También fue un amigo leal para muchos. Tenía un gran sentido del humor, un profundo amor por el béisbol y una pasión por el golf y por tocar el saxofón. Su calidez, su risa y su noble corazón dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que lo conocieron.

Más que nada, Hugo amaba ser papá. Su hijo Bennett era su mundo — su razón para luchar con tanta fuerza cada día en el hospital. Incluso en los momentos más difíciles, el amor de Hugo por su familia nunca vaciló. Fue una persona desinteresada, bondadosa y que siempre puso a sus seres queridos antes que a sí mismo.
