Welcome Beautiful Baby Logyn — Support for the Adam Family

On June 26th, Austin and Kaylee Adam welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Logyn, into the world. Kaylee’s pregnancy was healthy and uneventful, with no complications detected throughout. But on June 27th, just one day after birth, a nurse noticed Logyn appeared blue during her first bath. When checked, her oxygen saturation was found to be dangerously low — in the 60s — prompting an immediate transfer to the NICU for further evaluation and care.

After urgent testing, Logyn was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition called Pulmonary Atresia. This rare and complex defect means several parts of Logyn’s heart didn’t develop properly, and she does not have the pulmonary valve that allows blood to flow from her heart to her lungs to get oxygen. It requires life-saving interventions and surgery to restore proper blood flow and oxygenation.

Logyn was placed on life support and quickly transferred to Cook Children’s Hospital, where doctors will continue to run additional tests and obtain more imaging to better understand her condition and create a treatment plan.

This has been an overwhelming and life-altering time for the Adam family.

Austin, a firefighter-paramedic, has served the City of Dallas for the past 6 years and recently transferred to the Arlington Fire Department, where he is set to graduate from the Fire Academy next week. Kaylee is a stay-at-home mom caring for their 20-month-old son, Brennan. With Logyn in critical care, Austin is stepping away from work to be by Logyn and Kaylee’s side and to help care for Brennan while Kaylee remains at the hospital.

The emotional and financial strain they are under is immense.

We are asking for your continued prayers that Logyn remains stable throughout the weekend, so the team of specialists can meet on Monday and create the best possible plan for her first surgery, expected this week.
