The Ackerson family is facing an unimaginable loss following the passing of their beautiful 16-year-old daughter, Payton, who went to her heavenly home following an e-bike accident.
Payton was so many things to so many people—a deeply loved daughter and sister, niece, a brand-new aunt, a cousin, girlfriend, teammate, and friend. She was a sophomore at High Plains Community Schools and loved playing volleyball, spending time with the people she loved, and caring for animals and her own beloved pets.
Those who knew Payton will remember her sweet and silly personality, her huge heart, and especially her big bear hugs. She had a special way of making people feel loved, and the impact she made in her 16 years will remain in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
As the Ackerson family grieves this tremendous loss, they are also facing the unexpected financial burdens that can follow a tragedy. This GoFundMe has been created to help ease some of that burden by assisting with Payton’s funeral and medical expenses, allowing her family to focus on grieving, healing, and being together.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and, most importantly, keeping the Ackerson family and everyone who loved Payton in your prayers.
There are also other meaningful ways to honor Payton’s memory. You can support the family’s “Play for Payton — Play With Purpose” T-shirt fundraiser, or honor Payton’s love for animals by donating to or adopting an animal from the Central Nebraska Humane Society.
Payton’s life was far too short, but the love she gave, the hugs she shared, and the lives she touched will never be forgotten.
Please continue to surround the Ackerson family with love, prayers, and support in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.
Play for Payton. Play with purpose. Love big.
