I'm fundraising for the Abghari family so that they can navigate the path forward after the loss of their daughter and sister, Haleh Abghari.

Family and friends are devastated to learn that our beloved Haleh Abghari has died. She was found on Wednesday morning, August 7, in her Colorado Springs home. The cause of death is still under investigation, however, it seems that Haleh was killed during a home robbery.

This senseless act leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. Haleh was very close with her family (parents and sister); she spoke with them every night on the phone for years and had just visited them at their home in Los Angeles two weeks prior. Haleh remained in close contact with a cohort of friends from when she lived in Iran, Davis (CA), Baltimore, New York, and elsewhere. Haleh was a dedicated daughter, sister, friend, performer, teacher, advocate, and so much more. But Haleh was also independent and lived a private life. She would never want to burden anyone and if anything, she took on the burdens of others in her ongoing quest to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, the financial burden of this tragedy is falling to Haleh's parents and sister, and so I am asking if the greater community can chip in to help cover the costs.

Haleh’s life was a testament to her passion for the arts, human rights, and her commitment to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, creativity, and deep connections with those who knew her. As her family and community mourn this profound loss, they hold onto the memories of the incredible person Haleh was.
