The American Italian Heritage Museum & Cultural Center in Albany needs your help! We are launching a fund appeal to raise funds to install a 4-foot by 8-foot electronic LED sign at the museum’s entrance. Our museum serves as a vital cultural center dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich contributions of Italian Americans to our community and nation. For decades, our museum and cultural center have provided engaging exhibits, cultural programs, educational workshops, and community events that bring people together in appreciation of Italian heritage and culture.

Our mission is to honor Italian immigrants, tell their stories, and recognize the contributions of Italian Americans. We believe the enhanced visibility this project will provide will allow us to continue this important mission and strengthen our outreach to the broader community. This sign will replace or supplement our traditional static signage, which limits our ability to inform the public about changing programs and events.

This project will enhance our visibility, improve communication with the public, and help promote our events and programs in an attractive, modern, and energy-efficient way. It will improve awareness of the museum by drawing attention to the museum from passing motorists and pedestrians, who may not realize the museum exists and is open to the public.

Project Overview:

This sign will serve as a dynamic communication tool, displaying messages about:

• Monthly programs, lectures, cultural festivals and exhibit information

• Announcements of special exhibits and events, such as our annual Christmas Market

• Community updates, holiday greetings, and educational opportunities

• Recognition of sponsors and donors who help make our work possible

This sign will replace or supplement our traditional static signage, which limits our ability to inform the public about changing programs and events.

The Purpose and Additional Benefits of Installing the LED Sign include:

1. Enhanced Communication:

With a programmable digital display, we can easily and instantly update messages without the need for costly printed materials or manual updates.

2. Increased Community Engagement and Museum Membership:

By showcasing community events, partner activities, and sponsor recognition, the sign will foster a sense of connection, and hopefully increase participation and memberships

3. Sustainability and Efficiency:

Modern LED signs are energy-efficient, durable, and cost-effective to operate, ensuring long-term savings and flexibility in our marketing compared to traditional signage and advertising methods.

We are seeking contributions from individuals, businesses, and community organizations who share our commitment to preserving and celebrating Italian American heritage.

Suggested giving levels:

• Major Sponsor: $5,000 and above (includes name or logo recognition on the sign for one year)

• Supporting Sponsor: $1,000 – $4,999

• Community Contributor: $250 – $999

• Friend of the Museum: up to $249

All donors will be recognized on our website, in our museum newsletter, and at the sign’s dedication ceremony.
