My name is William Hewitt and I am the Pastor of Christian Road Ministries in Torrance, CA. Though you may not know me personally, I am sure we are all familiar with the dreaded disease of Cancer. I recently lost my brother-in-love and brother in Christ to cancer and it hurts. I am sure that we all have experienced at some level the pain staking toll of a loved one going through this disease. Instead of sitting and hoping a cure comes about, I have researched and seen that early diagnoses is a primary way we can tilt the odds of a successful prognosis in our favor. The problem is that the testing for this is usually not part of our normal diagnostic panels during routine physicals or not covered by insurances. So, in light of this, how do we make accessible these panels to those in need? Well, we have to raise awareness and resources. Full body scans (MRI) or PET scans are one of the best ways to discover cancer as soon as Stage 1. These body scans also have the ability to detect potential blood clots as well. Because of the passion for wellness, we would like to offer the resources to those who are in need of such a body scan. These cost vary based on depth of scan and can be as low as $999 for a torso scan and as high as $3999 for an enhanced screening. We are hoping to partner with a company called Prenuvo (www.prenuvo.com) for these services as this is what they specialize in. Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money as to open our own screening location that potentially will provide this service at no to low cost for any who are in need of this service. A MRI, PET, CAT scanning machine can be as much as $1M. But I believe that we can beat cancer with early diagnosis. This is an overwhelmingly tough project but I believe it can be done. The name of the fund is the 818 Project. This is in memory of my Brother-in-Law Dr. Martin L. Smith. I hope this find you all well. Let's keep on fighting.
