Honouring Aaron’s Legacy Through Youth Empowerment:

Hi, my name is Renee Rankine, and I’m raising funds for the 3rd Annual Aaron Rankine-Wright Memorial Scholarship Award—a scholarship created in honour of my brother, Aaron, who was tragically taken from us too soon.

Aaron was an extraordinary young man whose resilience, strength, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. As a talented athlete and dedicated wrestler, he poured his heart into the sport and inspired those around him. After his passing, my dad and I established this scholarship to ensure that Aaron’s legacy lives on by supporting young athletes who need financial assistance to pursue their dreams.

How Your Support Will Make a Difference:

The funds raised will go directly to helping young athletes at Central Toronto Wrestling—Aaron’s former club—to help cover the costs of national competitions, travel, and essential expenses. These opportunities allow these athletes to compete at higher levels, gain valuable experiences, and build confidence both on and off the mat.

Why This Matters:

This year’s scholarship will be presented at the upcoming tournament on April 6th, 2025—just 2 days before my 27th birthday. As we approach this milestone, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by continuing to uplift the next generation of athletes, just as Aaron would have wanted.
