Support the 2025 Kamloops Black Film Festival!
Donation protected
The Kamloops Black Film Festival celebrates Black storytelling and artistry in cinema, shining a spotlight on the Black community's diverse cultures and rich history. In February 2024, our first annual festival brought the city together for an unforgettable experience, featuring an amazing line-up of films and several events showcasing local Black talent.
The overwhelming success of our first festival demonstrated the power of film as a universal language transcending race and culture, uniting audiences from diverse backgrounds. Building on this momentum, the Valid Dreams Foundation, in partnership with Kamloops AfroFilms and with the support of Kamloops Film Society, is proud to present the second annual Kamloops Black Film Festival. We aim to make a stronger impact through a thoughtfully curated list of films and by providing an ongoing platform for local Black creatives and businesses. Once again, our goal is to encourage conversations around Black stories and experiences, highlighting the unique perspectives they bring to cinema.
Why Your Support Matters
Your donations will directly support the festival’s success. Funds will go towards our festival events, helping us secure guest speakers, artists, and performers, provide catering, and cover other associated costs. While our film screenings showcase Black creativity on screen, our events highlight Black creativity beyond the screen, setting a stage for our local Black talent. Every dollar goes a long way and will be instrumental in bringing the 2025 Kamloops Black Film Festival to life.
