Support Thaxted Primary School Sports!

Children at Thaxted Primary School love their sports! They enjoy challenging themselves to improve and taking part in team events. The school has recently been awarded the Platinum Sports Mark, a tribute to how important sport is to the children and staff at Thaxted.

For the last few years the school has been fortunate to have two days of high quality sports instruction from a specialist sports coach. Under these lessons children have flourished and started to enjoy new sports which they had not had the opportunity to try before. This has been especially beneficial to the children who are less academic but have other talents, such as sport.

Unfortunately, with all the funding reductions which schools are now facing, Thaxted Primary School are unable to continue with this excellent provision.

Rather than give up, and in order to support children with these fantastic opportunities, we have decided to try and fundraise. The children in the school will be challenged to run at least 1 mile every week, this is 14 laps of the playground. With 250children this is 3500 laps of the playground a week or 133000 over the year!
