Thanatos is a short film about three high-school seniors who, after a confrontation with a classmate turns deadly, panic and bury the accident deep in the woods. As night falls, a silent figure begins appearing between the trees, forcing the teens to confront their guilt, their fear, and the unsettling possibility that death doesn’t end as cleanly as they thought. Inspired by the Greek personification of death—Thanatos, the quiet, inevitable end—this film blends teen horror with eerie supernatural ambiguity, inviting the audience to question what waits beyond death and what happens when the truth refuses to stay buried.
My name is Elena, and I discovered my passion for filmmaking at 17, working on sets with Fresh Films in Chicago. Now, as a film student at Olivet Nazarene University, I continue to grow as a director and cinematographer. I founded Blue Cherub Productions to bring my vision for Thanatos to life, hoping to invite audiences to imagine their own interpretation of what waits beyond death—all through the lens of a teen horror story. This is my first passion project, and I am pouring everything I have into making it a reality.
I have already assembled a dedicated crew, but to make this film truly special, I need support to pay my cast and crew, secure filming locations, provide props and equipment, cover meals during production, and submit Thanatos to film festivals. Any support will help bring this unique story to life and share it with audiences who love independent film. Thank you for believing in this project!
