Bringing Thalia Home
On June 29, what began as a trip to Thailand to celebrate Thalia’s high school graduation and upcoming 18th birthday became every parent’s worst nightmare.
Thalia suddenly collapsed, suffered a devastating intraventricular hemorrhage with obstructive hydrocephalus, subarachnoid hemorrhage and brain stem compression and underwent emergency brain surgery. She remains in the ICU, fighting for her life.
Thalia recently graduated from Tascosa High School, completed the Patient Care Technician Program at AmTech Career Academy, and had enrolled in college prerequisite courses to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
Help Bring Thalia Home
Our immediate needs include:
* ❤️ ICU and hospital care in Thailand (expected to exceed $100,000 by the end of this month)
* ✈️ A medically necessary international air ambulance (estimated at $340,000)
* Rehabilitation and ongoing medical care after she returns home
Why We’re Asking for Help
* Thailand’s hospitals generally require pay-as-you-go payment during treatment.
* As U.S. citizens receiving emergency care abroad, we do not have access to the financing options many families have in the United States.
* We have applied for emergency assistance through the U.S. Embassy and are awaiting their decision.
Our fundraising goal reflects Thalia’s estimated medical expenses in Thailand, the cost of a medically necessary international air ambulance, and payment processing fees deducted from donations. Any remaining funds will support her rehabilitation and ongoing medical care.
Every donation, share, prayer, and connection to a business or charitable organization brings Thalia one step closer to coming home.
Thank you for standing with our family and helping us bring Thalia home.
