Support Thais: A Friend in Need

My name is Lori Godinez, and I have had the pleasure of calling Thais Austin my friend for over 30 years. To provide a little background, I am married to Thais’ former husband Ralph and together we have raised their/our son Ralphie since he was 5 years old. While our relationship may seem unconventional to some, Thais and I have grown to love each other over the years, and I consider her to be one of my closest and trusted friends.

Many of you may not be aware of Thais’ current situation since she is a very private and proud person, but unfortunately, she desperately needs our help. In 2023, Thais’ health took a turn for the worst and it was necessary for her to have multiple surgeries. To make matters worse, medical complications in 2024 kept her from returning to work for a total of six months and 2025 has been increasingly difficult since she faced additional medical complications along with three additional surgeries which have prevented her from returning to work. Although it appears the surgeries are behind her for now, there are still other health issues plaguing her and her doctors will not permit her to return to work yet.

Thais’ savings have long been depleted, and her financial situation is dire. She is unable to return to work, has no income other than some support from Ralphie, and she is in danger of losing her home in the next 30 days, which brings me to the purpose of this Go Fund Me.

Thais is a fiercely independent, hard-working, and proud person and it took some serious convincing for her to allow me to reach out to her friends and family for support but as I shared with her, “If the people who love you knew you were suffering, they would want to help”. Ralphie and Thais have fought this battle alone for too long.

Please consider making a donation today so Thais may focus on getting healthy without the fear of losing her home. Thais is ALWAYS willing to help the people she loves, and I am sure you have all experienced her kindness at one time or another. Any financial support would be greatly appreciated.
