My friend Tez was laid off from his job (running nonprofit trans health programs) in late summer 2025 and has been job-hunting ever since. With unemployment exhausted and a recent welfare denial, he is down to his last dollars. Tez and Bonita, his loyal pup, have recently moved out of their home but fortunately, through community, they have a place to stay while Tez gets back on his feet.

Tez’s work has focused on supporting his community of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and first-generation queer, trans, and two-spirit folks, and now he is in the position of reaching out to his community - and beyond - for some support to meet his fundraising goal to provide for a couple months of basic living expenses while he secures a job and adjusts to his new home.

Tez has exhausted every route for public assistance, and due to their rigid eligibility criteria, he is asking you for “bridge funding” to help close the gap between this chapter of his life and the new beautiful one that lies ahead of him.
