You become humbled really fast and there no easy way to say this. Champagne Problems AKA Tex, our sweet boy, needs help. I need help while I weigh whether I could trade his life for $15,000. Unfortunately, the medical expenses required for his treatment are substantial and beyond what we can cover. We have already exceeded our budget with upfront medical payments to N.C. State Vet School. Without additional money his treatment cannot continue. Tex is only 8 years old with a long life ahead of him. I have been working really hard with him and our first show was to have been March 8th however at this point we just want him safe and healthy. He has been nicked named Mr Perfect because that’s exactly what he is.

Tex walked up to the gate with extensive face and neck wounds. We have no idea how it happened, but appeared to be superficial. We thought it would be a quick stitch and go process however we couldn’t have been more wrong. The nasal bone is broken, there is a sinus infection, infection in his neck with some necrosis in the muscle. They just want to get the infection under control which is the main concern. The eye team is looking at him now but they don’t think his eye is an issue. They did however find multiple fractures around his eye. They are also going to look for any injured bones in the neck just incase. He will go in for his third surgery today, praying there is no additional injuries or infection. The full extent of his injuries are way more detailed than we fully understand and can explain. He needs to stay at least a week to ensure that there is no infection. This is where the bulk of the expense is coming from.

We will know more later today, day two and will update along the way.
