Hello, we are the dedicated and passionate students of the Texas Tech ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) Class of 2025 at the Dallas campus. We are writing to you today with immense hope and excitement for the journey ahead, and we need your help to celebrate a pivotal moment in our path to becoming registered nurses.

For a nursing student, the White Coat Ceremony is a profound rite of passage. It's the moment we officially transition from the classroom to the clinical world, marking our formal entry into patient care. Receiving that crisp, white coat symbolizes a solemn promise: a commitment to practice with unwavering professionalism, to uphold the highest ethical standards, and, most importantly, to provide compassionate care to every patient we serve.

This ceremony is our generation's tradition, a meaningful event that bonds a cohort and instills a deep sense of responsibility as we prepare to enter hospitals and clinics. Unfortunately, we've been informed that our White Coat Ceremony must be entirely student-led and funded. Without the financial backing of the university, this inaugural ceremony for the Dallas campus is at risk of not happening at all.

Our cohort is a unique tapestry of resilience, determination, and diverse life experiences. Many of us are first-generation college students, the first in our families to pursue higher education and break generational cycles. We are proud veterans who have already served our country and are now seeking a new way to serve our community. We are single mothers, balancing the immense demands of an accelerated nursing program with raising our children. We come from various minority backgrounds, driven to bring new perspectives and culturally competent care to the nursing profession.

For us, completing nursing school isn't just an accomplishment; it's our superpower. It's the culmination of overcoming personal and financial hurdles, of late nights studying after putting kids to bed, and of pushing through self-doubt to answer a calling to care for others. The White Coat Ceremony is the moment we get to put on our capes.

This is where you come in. We are humbly asking for your support to help us fund our first-ever White Coat Ceremony. Many of our students are already stretched thin financially by the rigors and costs of an accelerated program and simply do not have the means to afford this additional expense.
