Support Te'von Berry Jr's Fight Against Cancer

I'm Andrea Berry and my 17 year old son Te'von Berry Jr has Osteosarcoma which is a form of bone cancer. Te'von was originally diagnosed with Osteosarcoma last year on 8/28/2023 at the age of 15, just weeks before his 16th birthday. The cancerous tumor was in his right femur. On Friday 9/22/2023 Te'von had his port placement surgery and started chemo. Te'von's treatment plan consisted of 10 weeks chemotherapy, distal Femural surgery where about half of his right femur and knee was removed and replaced with a metal implant, and then another 18 weeks of chemotherapy plus physical therapy. Te'von received inpatient chemotherapy so, he would have to stay in the hospital 3-4 days each treatment. Te'von completed chemotherapy May 6, 2024. Our family thought that we were moving in the right direction. Doctor appointments would lessen and there would just be follow-up scans every few months.

Fast forward to Oct 4, 2024 where our family learned that Te'von's cancer returned. This time it's in his right shoulder, lungs and 7th rib. Te'von had to complete proton radiation therapy and now takes chemo pills daily. Our family is crushed. Te'von is currently in the 12th grade and he's making preparation to attend college. Last school year when Te'von was in the 11th grade he missed 108 out of the 180 days in the school year. This is not a cycle any of us want to repeat. Te'von also has a job but due to the tumor in his shoulder he's in a sling and isn't able to work at the moment.

We are at the mercy of this diagnosis and we want to do everything in our power to help our son fight and beat cancer by getting the treatment that he needs. Cancer treatment is costly even with health insurance which we're grateful to have. We're still paying medical bills from Te'von's first cancer diagnosis. The cost of hospital stays, surgeries, x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, PET scans, medications, co-pays, travel, and food has piled up and now we have to do this all over again since the cancer has returned. Our son's care is most important to us but, having all of this on top of daily expenses has put a lot of stress on our family financially, emotionally, mentally and physically.
