Tess Buencamino, lovingly known as Tita Jo, Jowars, and sometimes Jowariwaro, was a cherished aunt and friend who brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. She had a special way of making everyone feel included, sharing jokes and stories as if she were one of the group. Whether it was spending time with us in the Philippines or welcoming us back after trips abroad, Tess always made sure we felt at home. Her humor and kindness were constants, even as we all grew older and faced new challenges together.

Recently, Tess faced health issues that she kept private, not wanting to worry her family. Despite her strength, she was hospitalized and, after a brief stay, passed away from a heart attack. Her family, both in the USA and the Philippines, came together to support her during this difficult time, covering significant hospital expenses and now working as a group to arrange her memorial, cremation, and burial. Tess’s passing has left a deep void, and her loved ones are doing their best to honor her memory and give her the farewell she deserves.
