On September 18, our world changed when Terry suffered a stroke at home. He was found by his wife, Sue, and rushed to the hospital, where he remained for nearly three months focused on his recovery. During this time, Terry underwent multiple complex procedures, including a craniotomy, a lumbar puncture, and a neuroendoscopy, as doctors worked to relieve pressure on his brain, identify the cause of the stroke, and carefully monitor and manage the damage it caused. Over these past months we, the family and our loving community, have poured our energy into supporting Terry and each other. For this love and care, the Bresnahan's will be forever grateful.

On December 1, Terry transitioned to a rehabilitation center and is now undergoing intensive therapy as he continues the long road to physical recovery. Since the stroke, he has had difficulty communicating along with severe mobility issues as he has not been able to move his left arm and leg since the stroke. He needs continued intensive therapy to regain strength, mobility, and independence.

We know (as we’re sure anyone reading this does) that Terry is a fighter, a “slender but surprisingly strong” guy, according to his doctors, and of course, a devoted husband, proud and loving father, and loyal friend. While his road to recovery has been filled with love and support, it has also come with many challenges and setbacks. The cost of ongoing medical care has created a significant financial burden for the Terry and Sue and the time has come for us to ask for help from our community near and far.
