Support Terry Weavers brain cancer fight

Donation protected
An ordinary Saturday morning drive to Bunnings on 6 July 2019 turned into every families worst fear for Terry, Melissa and little Charlotte Weaver.

While driving, Terry suffered a seizure at the wheel. Thankfully, his foot came off the accelerator and Melissa managed to steer them to safety off the road. But this is only the beginning of what would become their nightmare.

Terry was taken by Ambulance to Fiona Stanley Hospital for further tests. A CT scan revealed a mass on his right frontal lobe of the brain which would need further tests and an MRI at Sir Charles Gardner hospital on the Sunday. Following the MRI it was revealed that the mass was a large Glioma (brain tumour) and required brain surgery to remove as much as possible. Unfortunately the surgeon would be unable to remove all of the Glioma as it had spread to brain tissue.

Terry underwent brain surgery on Tuesday 9 July 2019 at St John of God hospital in Subiaco.

Friday 26 July, Terry and Melissa attended St John of God hospital in Subiaco to receive the results nobody is ever ready to hear.
A Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, an aggressive brain tumour that would require Radiation and Chemotherapy to prolong life but unable to cure the cancer.

Nobody deserves this news, least of all this family. If you know Melissa and Terry you know they are the kind of people that if you were in their position, they would be the first to offer help. And if you don't know them, trust me when I say, this is one family who deserve every little bit of luck and help you have to offer.

Unfortunately because of the aggressive treatment Terry will have to undergo, he can no longer work. Melissa will be the sole provider and having only just returned to work after maternity leave, she is only working 3 days a week. They have an 18 month old daughter, Charlotte, to provide for and as with us all, bills to pay.

Terry is only 37 years old, he's supposed to have his whole life ahead of him. Without treatment he has been given 2-3 years.

Melissa is my sister. I have setup this page to help support Mel and Terry financially with their bills and medical expenses through this very tough time.

In order for Mel and Terry to receive the donations and not have them classified as "Income" by the Australian Taxation Office, unfortunately your donation will not be tax deductible .

I ask that you donate as much or as little as you are able. Every little bit helps and the family will be forever grateful to be able to concentrate on Terrys health and not the worries of financial obligations.
