Hi ya’ll! I’m Natasha - Terry Lee’s eldest daughter. Although I know he’d be against me creating this GoFundMe for him because he doesn’t like to ask for help, I’ve decided to create it first then tell him about it after the fact LOL).
My daddy was diagnosed with renal cancer not too long ago and it came as a shock to all of us. It’s always extremely devastating to hear the ‘c’ word for any of your loved ones - especially my best friend.
This past Monday, my daddy had his surgical procedure - a partial nephrectomy to remove the tumor. Although the surgery itself went well, he has a long road to recovery ahead.
If you know my dad at all, you know how stubborn this man is lol. I know he’s going to try to get back to work as soon as possible and we can’t let that happen just yet. In order for him to heal properly and allow his body the right amount of time to recover so he/we can fight this cancer and put it behind us.. he needs to have one less thing on his plate - and that’s finances (of course… cause we live in this world where we unfortunately can’t just recover from surgery and cancer without needing to worry about how the monthly bills and the necessities of life are going to be taken care of).
Not only are his medical bills+deductible absolutely ridiculous ($10k for his deductible and $64k for his surgery), my dad is self-employed (a musician and a martial artist) so he doesn’t get PTO like most of the world. So all of the time he has to be out of work to heal and recover, he won’t be having any income coming in.
My dad has always been the provider of this family and now he needs our help.
I, unfortunately, recently had a stroke months back and am just getting back on my feet so I can’t help in the way I wish I could.
So I’m coming to ya’ll - my dad’s friends and chosen family that he’s met through music, martial arts, and church.
My father would give his last dollar, his meal, open up his home… to help someone & I grew up witnessing this.
He is THE most self-less person I know.
It’s difficult enough for him to have to be at home and not performing or teaching - I know it’s driving him insane. But I/we need him to get better, fully and properly so that I can have him around a lot longer because I don’t know what I’d do without him.
My dad means the absolute world to me… and seeing him go through this - the dr appts leading up to the diagnosis, the surgery, the pain he is currently in, the extra stressors from life itself - has left me completely heart broken and feeling
helpless.
So I’m asking for ya’ll’s help - because I know he won’t - please give what you can, if you can, and if you can’t (it’s okay, I understand) just please share it. Let’s come together and take one thing off his plate. Because if it was for someone else, he would.
Thank you in advance for ANY donation and sharing you do. It means so much to me/us.
