Support Terry Howett's Journey with Lewy Body Dementia

Dear Friends of Terry Howett,

I am writing this in hopes that you will take a moment and read my mother's story. Many of you may or may not know about the time that Time Warner was purchased by Charter Communications in 2017, my mother was struck by a number of health crises at that time. Many folks thought she left to enjoy retirement, but after two heart attacks and then a debilitating diagnosis of the brain disease Lewy Body with Dementia and Parkinson’s striking her in 2018, she was no longer able to work.

Sadly this condition is terminal and has left her unable to walk without a walker or wheelchair. It has made it difficult for her to speak at times as well as swallow. She needs help with everyday tasks.

She just spent this past month in a skilled nursing home learning to do the most basic of chores.

As she will no longer be able to be left alone at home, I am asking for your help. She is entering into a Memory & Dementia Care Center in June as she needs full time care. Unfortunately, my income as a librarian combined with her social security is unable to cover these charges.

Several of her friends and past compatriots have suggested I set this fund up for her. I know you all know how proud my mother is and would do anything not to have to accept help, therefore I am asking on her behalf.

Several of you have visited her over the past and I can’t tell you how much that means to her. She always has that big smile and hug for anyone.
