Today, I’m asking you to rally behind one of ours.

My friend and longtime coaching client, Terry Ham—owner of Pasadena Martial Arts in Pasadena, Texas—is in the fight of his life.

Terry isn’t just a martial artist. He’s a teacher, a mentor, and the kind of man who shows up for his students and his community no matter what. And over the years, life has tested him in ways most people would never endure.

He has survived multiple heart attacks.

He has battled kidney failure.

He watched his dojo flood during Hurricane Harvey—and rebuilt.

Every time life knocked him down, Terry got back up.

That’s who he is.

But now, he’s facing something even tougher.

A few months ago, Terry began coughing up blood. What doctors discovered changed everything: stage 3 throat cancer, originating in his tonsils and spreading to his lymph nodes.

Since then, it’s been a brutal road.

He’s undergone chemotherapy.

He’s endured multiple surgeries, including the placement of a tracheotomy tube and a feeding tube.

He’s lost over 60 kilograms (more than 130 pounds) because he can no longer eat normally.

And still… he fights.

If you know Terry, this won’t surprise you. Fighters don’t quit. But even the toughest fighters shouldn’t have to go through this alone.

Right now, Terry and his wife, Sonya, are facing overwhelming medical expenses and severe financial strain. The very real stress of keeping things afloat while battling cancer is a burden no family should have to carry.
