Terry Ducote has been facing a series of severe medical challenges since November, beginning with a stroke on Thanksgiving morning. Since then, his health has rapidly declined. He is currently battling congestive heart failure, stage 4 kidney failure, diabetes, and the possibility of losing his left foot. On his birthday, February 26, Terry was admitted to the hospital, where he has remained ever since. His journey has included surgery for an ulcer on his heel, and while in the hospital, complications led to catastrophic heart failure and kidney failure.
Doctors discovered that Terry had 100% blockages in two of the three arteries supplying blood to his legs, and a 99% blockage in the third. He also developed a serious MRSA infection in the bone of his left foot. As of March 13, Terry has undergone four surgeries, the latest involving a debridement down to the bone and a bone biopsy to assess the extent of the infection. He is now attached to a wound VAC, and so far, his doctors have managed to avoid amputation. Terry is facing at least six more weeks of hospitalization and rehabilitation, with his wife by his side every step of the way.
All funds raised will go directly toward Terry’s medical bills, rehabilitation, and travel expenses for his family. We know times are difficult for everyone, but if you find it in your heart to help, it would be wonderful. If you can’t, prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated. Your support means the world to Terry and his loved ones as they navigate this incredibly challenging time.
