Support Terry Bryan's Fight Against Nocardiosis

Terry Bryan.
How do you introduce the man that is the focal point of your family? How do you share with strangers the love, passion, dedication and Godliness that he shares with everyone that he meets? These are just some of the words that are used to describe Terry. To know him, is to love him. Whether you saw him dancing his heart out at a family party, ending up in urgent care following an intense kickball game, having the privilege of him praying over you during worship in church, or seeing the light in his eyes while he play fights with his grandkids (who would know that "kick to the face" would be such an iconic memory for these kids??) or even listening to stories about " Back at the apartments", you know that Terry is a man of God, a man of his community and a man for his family. He has faithfully served his church for 8 years, dedicated 24+ years to his job at AT&T to support his family, he has never missed a birthday party, birth of a grandchild, anniversary and if you want to be really impressed, he decorates for Christmas every year for his wife Maggie. Their love story is truly one out of a fairy tale, from the moment he saw her in the parking lot at Country Rock and said "That is the woman I am going to marry" to the day they said their wedding vows, to this present day. Not a day goes by that he doesnt think about what he can do for her to make her life better.
Now it is our turn to think about how we can help make his life better. We came together to help him find his kidney donor and June 19th that miracle came true! He received his donor kidney after living in stage 4 kidney failure for years. We all anticipated and prayed that after receiving his kidney his body would be restored, his health would improve and he would be able to go back to living an almost normal life without the worry of kidney failure. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. What should have been a dream come true, has began to spiral into a nightmare. 7 hospitalizations beginning with low blood pressure, AFIB, kidney levels that kept dropping, and a mystery infection that has been plaguing his body for weeks. He has had countless blood draws, a lung biopsy, a spinal tap, ct scans and MRIs. After consults with the top specialists and the CDC, Terry has been given the heartbreaking diagnosis of Nocardiosis.
Nocardiosis is a disease caused by Nocardia bacteria found in soil, water or medical facilities. It can affect the lungs, brain, and skin. While the disease can be treated with commonly available antibiotics, it can be fatal in 4 out of 10 cases. In the United States, about 500-1,000 new cases of nocardiosis occur every year. About 6 in 10 people who get nocardiosis have weakened immune systems.
At this time, the bacteria has spread to his brain, his lungs, his eyes and his skin. He has had a PICC line placed and will receive special antibiotics for the next 6 months to a year. Please take a moment to pray for Terry. And pray for your own loved ones' health. We believe that our God is bigger than this and the power of prayer moves mountains.
Due to the prolonged absence from work and medical bills multiplying, Terry and Maggie are facing an extreme financial hardship. At this time, he has only been approved for short term disability, which will be ending soon. Maggie has been dedicated to being by his side for all appointments, hospitalizations, and as his caregiver at home. The work hours she has missed has meant that their combined income, while already below what they need to break even, is now even lower. We are asking for monetary donations to assist with paying their monthly expenses, medical bills and medications.
We appreciate you taking the time to learn Terry's story, pray with us and donate to help his livelihood as he fights this battle.
