Our dear friend and colleague Terrina needs our help. Terrina will undergo critically needed surgery this week to correct a very rare vascular disorder.
For several years, Terrina has been living with debilitating chronic pain that baffled doctors until just last month, when she was diagnosed with Nutcracker Syndrome. While the name of the condition may sound humorous, there’s nothing funny about it. This disorder causes excruciating pain. The condition got its name because it causes the aorta artery and another major artery to crush the left renal vein located between the two arteries. “Renal” comes from the Latin word for kidney. A properly functioning left renal vein is vital to a healthy, normal life as it is a blood vessel that carries blood toward the heart.
The road to getting diagnosed has been filled with expensive tests and medical procedures. We all know that even the best insurance won’t cover everything. And there will likely be even more unforeseen costs associated with the surgery. She’s also been out of work with no pay for several weeks and it will take approximately 3 months to recover from surgery. We are asking you to make a donation to help pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance, groceries, utilities and other daily living expenses.
Anyone who knows Terrina knows she has the biggest heart. She’s one of the most caring and giving people you’ll ever meet. In fact, Terrina is the one who organizes events and heads up fund drives for anyone who needs help. Now, it’s our turn to help Terrina when she needs our help the most.
Your generous contributions to help her heal are sincerely appreciated. Please give what you can and share this post with friends. Thank you for your support.
