Terrie’s Story in her words.
Back in May, I went to the doctor expecting to address one issue—my bladder had dropped, and I needed a hysterectomy. But during pre-op, my gynecologist discovered I had a very bad heart murmur. That finding changed everything.
After many tests, I learned I need open-heart surgery to replace a bad valve with a mechanical heart valve. In addition, one of my main arteries is running through the muscle of my heart instead of in front of it—if possible, the surgeons will also perform a bypass during surgery.
Open-heart surgery is my only option; robotic surgery isn’t possible, and due to my age, I’m not a candidate for pig/cow tissue valves. A mechanical valve will give me the best long-term outcome, but it comes with a long recovery.
I know this surgery will be life-changing. When I’m healed, I can’t wait to get back to what I love most—spending time with my family and being on the water fishing, sharing my catches with the world through my eyes. It’s my passion, and I hope to continue inspiring people of all ages to live life fully.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers as we face this journey. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for any support—whether through donations, kind words, or prayers. We love and appreciate each and every one of you. ♥️
Hi everyone, my name is Terri A. Condit, and I’m a very close friend of Terrie B. Huffmaster. I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help Terrie and her family with the expenses they’re facing during this difficult journey.
For the past two years, it has felt like one dark cloud after another for their family, with health struggles and hardships taking a tremendous toll. Next week, Terrie will undergo open-heart surgery to receive a mechanical heart valve and a bypass.
What many of you already know is that Terrie is extremely well known in the fishing community. Her success has no boundaries—she’s inspired countless people, and not many can say they haven’t heard of her. With her warm southern personality and her constant hope for the best for everyone around her, she’s touched so many lives.
Together, Terrie and I are proud co-owners of Women Fishing, a group of more than 46,000 women who share their fishing stories and successes. Terrie has been instrumental in its growth and in building a supportive community where women can celebrate their passion for fishing.
This fundraiser will help ease the financial burden of:
Travel expenses for her husband (gas, hotel stays, food)
Loss of income while he takes time off work to be by her side during recovery
Ongoing household bills and medical costs.
Your generosity will help them focus on healing and recovery, without the added stress of financial strain. If you’re unable to donate, please know that your prayers, love, and support mean the world to them. ♥️
