Terrie Ann (Gimble) Meaker, 67, of Milan, IL passed away on February 28, 2025 at OSF St Joseph in Bloomington, IL surrounded by loved ones.

Terrie Ann was born on August 5, 1957 in Hermiston, OR, the only daughter of Julius and Ann (Piersol) Gimble. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ann, and her husband, Douglas. Terrie Ann is survived by her 4 children Jennifer (Chris Cunliffe) of Danvers, IL, Megan (Jim Keilman) of Normal, IL, Joshua Meaker of Milan, IL and Amanda Meaker of Milan, IL; brothers John (Lucy) Gimble of Elwood IL, and Tony (Linda) of Moline, IL; along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Terrie Ann graduated from Rockridge High School in 1975, then went on to pursue a nursing degree at the Lutheran Hospital School of Nurses.

Terrie started out as a Nurse for Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island. For many years she worked in the Burn Unit, which was the only unit for miles around. It was a job that she not only loved but ended up being her greatest achievement. In fact, it is there that Terrie met Douglas and romance bloomed.

Terrie Ann married Douglas Meaker on November 4, 1980 in Edgington, IL. They stayed married up until Douglas’ passing in March of 2000. In their almost 20 years of marriage they had 4 beautiful children. Terrie also enjoyed getting to know and love each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Terrie was most proud of her 4 children and showed it by cheering for them and encouraging all of their interests. She was always active in her children’s lives and made a point to be there for every moment. Many evening and weekends were spent juggling Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, T-ball, softball, baseball, basketball, football, Rainbow and Demolay. When Terrie wasn’t busy with all of the extra-curricular activities, she enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, BINGO, ceramics, and watching her shows. Terrie Ann was also a former member of the Milan Chapter Eastern Star.

Terrie was a survivor. She survived 3 strokes, a near-fatal car accident, 2 diagnoses of cancer and more. Terrie was also diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease.

The funds obtained through this fundraiser will not only help offset the cost of Terrie's medical bills, but will help pay for internment and services. Thank you.
