Support Terri and Paul Holt

Hello, may name is Teresa, and I am absolutely delighted to tell you about my special friends, Paul and Terri Holt.

Paul and Terri live in Wyoming, Michigan, and have four young adult children: Brittany, Jordan, Elizabeth and Troy. Paul works as a cook at Florentine’s restaurant in Grandville, and Terri works nights and weekends as a nurse while she pursues her degree during the week. Paul and Terri attend Wyoming Park Bible Fellowship, where Paul serves as an usher.

Paul and Terri Holt are extremely hardworking and sweet people who love God, and seek to show Christ’s love to everyone they encounter.  One of the notable ways they do this is their quick offer an open home, and open heart to anyone in need. In the past few years, their already full house was frequented by people in need, who were welcome to stay as long as they needed to. A few years ago, the family took in Jordan, a 15-year old boy whose family was evicted from their home, and not able to care for him. Paul and Terri have been raising him as their own since.

On March 7, 2017, the Holts’ lives got flipped around. Paul had not been feeling very well during the winter season, but figured it was the different cold/flu bugs that everyone else was experiencing. Finally, the dull pain in his lungs sent him to the doctor to see if anything could be done.

After doing an x-ray, the doctor ordered a scan on his lungs immediately. They were told that afternoon that there was a mass in Paul’s lungs, half the size of one of his lungs presenting. They were set up with an oncologist right away and told that it was indeed cancer and things were not looking good at all.

The oncologist scheduled a PET Scan a couple of days later to see if it had spread further, and to see if the cancer was affecting any other organs.  At this point, Paul and Terri decided to contact the Cancer Treatment Center in Illinois.

Praise God! A team from the Cancer Treatment Center set up for Paul and Terri to head down there for further tests. After 10 days of testing, they received the news they were hoping for. The cancer is Stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. which is treatable with a 65% chance of remission.

Paul began Chemo last Monday and will undergo 11 more treatments at the Cancer Treatment Center in Illinois.

Please help us help this family with a donation. The Holt family has always been there for the people around them. Though money has always been tight, they have always been quick to give generously to anyone they met. Between the sickness of the Chemo and the trips to Illinois, finances are already becoming difficult for this family.
