We’re Terri Eddy and Alex Caballero. After seeing how badly our communities in Western Jamaica were hit by Hurricane Melissa, we knew we had to do something.
Many of you saw the footage and felt the same. Now, in the aftermath, it’s as bad as we feared. Our families and neighbors in Westmoreland and Hanover are still trying to get clean water, food, and basic supplies. Many lost their homes, crops, and the small businesses they depend on. There’s no electricity, and no outside help has reached these rural areas yet.
We’re bringing people together to pool what we have and get direct relief to the people we know. This effort is focused on:
* Clean drinking water, which is the most urgent need for many families
* Community support, including food, baby formula, diapers, toiletries, and medication
* Rebuilding materials, like zinc, wood, and nails for roof repairs
Thankfully, there were no casualties in our hometowns of Fullersfield, Westmoreland, and Cove, Hanover, but the damage is severe. People are relying on one another day by day while waiting for help to come.
Please share, donate if you can, or reach out with any ideas or connections that could make a difference. And if you’re in Jamaica, check in on families in rural areas who may still need support.
Every prayer, share, and dollar helps.
