On January 26, 2026 my older brother Terrance was brutally attacked and left for dead in the lobby of his apartment complex. He was threatened with a firearm and maimed with a knife, and as a result, sustained major injuries including a cut across his left arm (7cm long and 2.5cm wide), a stab wound in his right shoulder, and major blood loss. He was rushed into emergency surgery, and currently has limited movement and feeling in his left arm and right hand as a result of these injuries.
As if surviving this level of violence isn't devastating enough, because this incident happened in the lobby of the building, he is being asked to vacate his apartment on Feb 6th. So now, in addition to physical and emotional aftermath of this attack, he is also facing housing instability and consequently may lose a lot of his possessions.
The individual who is attacked my brother is now in custody for attempted murder. I am asking for support on his behalf to aid in his recovery and restabilization. Your donation will contribute to his:
Stay safely housed for a few months at an extended-stay hotel where he can stabilize and prepare meals while he applies for housing (he is already in touch with a community based organization to help get him connected)
Cover other basic needs while he recovers. My brother lives on a small fixed income that he supplements with plasma donation, however due to his injuries he will not be able to do that for at least 12 weeks post-surgery.
Terrance is a United States Air Force veteran and a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Beyond that, he is a genuinely wonderful person, who avoids conflict and takes care of business. He is also a great neighbor and has built good relationships with those in his local community, which is why this incident is so shocking and dismaying. He is responsible, compassionate, and the kind of person who takes care of his family and helps without being asked.
He doesn't deserve this. No one does.
We appreciate anything you're able to give during this difficult time. Whether that's a donation, a share, or a prayer!
Even the smallest contribution, when multiplied by many, will have a life changing impact and support his healing from this traumatic experience.
