Help Tara During Her Double Amputation Recovery

Donation protected
Tara has recently been informed that, due to her life-long struggle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, she has developed Charcot Foot Disease and must have both her legs amputated below the knee. While the two diseases are usually not linked, Tara is in the 1% of patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease who develop Charcot Foot Disease, a painful degenerative bone disorder.

In Tara's case, the bones in her feet are slowly crushing and disintegrating and a double amputation is her only option. The surgeries will occur separately; with one leg to be removed first and, when her body is strong enough, the second following shortly afterward.

There will be a minimum of 4 months recovery from the surgeries and many more months of healing and adjustments to Tara's home life ahead.

This campaign is to support Tara and her young family financially through this time. While Tara and Colin have moved into her parents' home for support with their two little girls, Audrey and Lucy, they will still need financial support to purchase wheelchairs, prosthetics, eventual adjustments made to their living space, and all of the lost wages that come with Colin caring for Tara during this major surgery.

Please join us in supporting Tara, Colin, Audrey, and Lucy as they work through all that a double leg amputation means for Tara and their family's future.
