Support Teri Reed's Road to Recovery

My name is Amy(Hopper) Clyburn . I am trying to raise money to help my sister, Teri(Hopper) Reed . She had a hip replacement April 29th of this year,had her other hip done in 2023 with zero complications. After her most recent surgery she was really struggling to walk, do PT,etc. We went to her 2 week follow-up appt where they took x-rays , removed staples and told us “don’t compare surgeries “ Well when the Dr pulled her x-ray it showed the her femur in her surgical leg was broke!! She went to orthopedic specialists in Springfield to have a second surgery just 2 weeks post op to fix her femur, came home and 2 weeks later ended up in the ER in Blmnt , for what we thought looked like the beginnings of an infection,an ambulance ride to Springfield Memorial Hospital, to have surgery #3 to clean all the “ gunk” due to Staph infection and to attach wound vac . We were home for 3 weeks thinking we’re finally going in the right direction for recovery with home IV meds, visiting nurse,PT and referral to the wound clinic here in Blmnt . As of today she is back in Springfield hospital to have surgery #5 this Wednesday to have all the hardware removed to try and get the infection under control, with temporary antibiotic spacer in her leg for at least 6 weeks then surgery #6 to start from scratch with new total hip replacement.

I have been with her 24/7 since April 29th minus a couple weekends home to Mt Zion because of my very understanding husband and daughter, and since COVID I have been working from home so I was able to bring everything here for what I thought was going to be a 2-3 week stay to help while she recuperated but am staying as long as needed.
