Support Teri Jensen's Recovery Journey

i would first like to thank everyone for their kindness and support. I have been so moved by everyone’s concern. Thank you so much.

I had my two week post op appointment. It was a phone appointment. Mary Minor came over. We spoke to the nurse for about twenty minutes. She would like me to see speech pathology to assess my swallowing. I am still struggling with that but she assured us that is normal. I am still not allowed to do chores. No bending, lifting, twisting or stretching. I also have to have another x-ray and appointment in six weeks. I will be starting pt at six weeks and they'll start weening me off the brace. The doctor has extended my medical leave until the end of June which have been assured is medically necessary but causes obvious financial concerns.

Hi my name is Theresa Kamper. I am a close friend of Teri Jensen. I have created this account with Teri’s permission in the hopes we can help remove some of the emotional stress of Teri’s recovery. As some of you know Teri has been living with significant nerve and spinal damage due to cervical spinal stenosis. This has caused years of nerve pain and significant loss of strength in her right arm. In February after nearly two years of seeing a myriad of specialist she was able to get her surgery scheduled. On April 30, 2024, Teri had anterior cervical fusion and discectomy. It is a very complicated procedure. Thankfully the surgery seems to have been successful but the recovery is expected to take three months. She has her work cut out for her.

Where Teri needs help: Teri is not getting paid for the time she is losing at work nor is she being permitted to work from home once she is cleared to do so. She doesn’t qualify for short term disability and has no sick time or vacation time. I hate to see one of the most loving, giving people I know have to worry about stable income during her recovery. I know many people are struggling but truly anything helps.
