Help Terez Metry Fight Deportation & Stay in the Only Home She’s Ever Known

My dear friend was taken into ICE custody and is currently being held in Knoxville, TN. She will soon be transferred to Louisiana, where her case will be reviewed before deportation proceedings begin.

She urgently needs our community’s help to raise funds to hire immigration attorneys to fight for her chance to stay in the United States. Without strong legal representation, she faces deportation and a ban from re-entering the U.S. for over 10 years.

She was brought to this country as a child, without a choice. The U.S. is the only home she has ever known. She grew up here, went to school, earned a degree in the dental field, and has worked hard to do everything the right way.

She is married, and for more than three years she and her husband have been navigating the immigration process together. On the day of her immigration appointment, the day she believed would bring her closer to security, she was detained instead and told she would be deported unless her case is fought. She didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to her husband.

She is one of the hardest-working and kindest people I know. Deportation would tear her away from her husband, her friends, her career, and the life she has built here.
