Support Teresa's Stroke Recovery Journey

Hello, this is Kailani, Teresa’s daughter.

My mother and our family need help. Our mom recently suffered a stroke while working as a 911 dispatcher. She received prompt treatment, was admitted to the ICU, and now is in a rehabilitation facility. Her road to recovery is going to be rough. The stroke has left her with limited mobility and vision complications on her left side, and she is working hard in therapy daily to regain her strength. It is not known when she will be able to return to work.

Our mom has always put others before herself and has been a workaholic for the past 28 years in public safety. We know times are hard for everyone and are kindly asking for any monetary donations to help with the relief of household and medical bills, and any future care Teresa may need. Additionally, we are asking any MCSO/MCFD (County of Marin) employees to consider donating to her catastrophic leave when it is announced.

Any donation will help tremendously. Healing wishes, thoughts, and prayers are equally welcomed. We are hoping to reach the goal to cover the next few months of bills and medical expenses not covered by insurance while mom is learning to walk again. Thankfully, her spunky personality is still in tact and she is determined to rebound.

Mom and her children send thanks to MCFD, SRFD, supervisors and co-workers for working so quickly and efficiently to get her to the ER where they were able to administer life-saving medication to reverse the stroke. Our mom sends her greatest gratitude to all involved, and especially MCFD and all the endless messages of support and encouragement she has received from her public safety family, countless friends and family. She may not have responded to all of them, but she thanks you all from the bottom of her heart.
