Support Teresa's legacy and a more secure future for Liam

On May 21, 2025, our beautiful and courageous friend Teresa Hollingsworth’s four-year, painful journey with cancer came to an end. She leaves behind her young son Liam and husband Jamie. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, bountiful love of family and friends, and passion for science and nature.

In Teresa’s honor, we are raising funds for two purposes. A portion of what we raise will support Liam’s future education. Teresa’s medical treatment involved mounting expenses, creating financial burdens for her family. Your support will provide Liam a more secure future.

The rest of your donations will help create a university scholarship to support a student every year to conduct boreal ecology research. As an ecologist with the U.S. Forest Service and integral member of the Bonanza Creek Long-Term Ecological Research program, Teresa’s love of boreal plants and community ecology has inspired countless students and colleagues. Please help us continue her legacy of supporting emerging scientists and providing inspiration to see the interconnectivity of entire ecosystems.

We are managing this campaign with the blessing of Teresa’s family. Our plan is to divide donations more or less equally between the two causes.
