Support the Krahn family Teresa’s Open ❤️ Surgery

Donation protected
Update 11/7- I feel beyond blessed and thankful for all of you in my life! Thank you for all the support through prayers, cards, donations, sharing the goFundme, gifts, meals, and help with our 4 kids, and Ranger. Joe and I couldn’t do this without our amazing family, friends, church, and communities’ help! It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude we are feeling! ❤️ I am now 13 days post open heart surgery and my ascending aortic aneurysm is repaired! Thankfully I was doing so well I was able to be discharged home (to my parent’s house) after only 4 days at the hospital! I have home healthcare coming for a few weeks then will start cardiac rehab in early December. Although I have a long road to recovery ahead, I thank God for another day! - Teresa

Update 10/25 - Teresa is out of surgery and surgery went well. God is good! - Thank you for your continued prayers!

Hi, my name is Tanya Tennies (one of Teresa’s sisters) I created this page to allow others the opportunity to support Teresa, Joe and their 4 kids during Teresa’s open heart surgery, hospitalization and recovery.

Background-
Almost 3 years ago, after a scary visit to the emergency room, we found out that Teresa has an ascending aortic aneurysm. At the time, she had too much inflammation in her body to safely repair it. She has been working with her rheumatologist to reduce her inflammation with medication and monthly infusions. We also have been following the size of her aneurysm with CT scans every couple months. Based on the CT scan findings and her current lab values- she is now currently “in remission” and feeling healthy and strong.

Her cardiac surgeon and rheumatologist have given the go ahead for surgery. After lots of prayers and talking with family, she will be having open heart surgery on October 25th to repair the ascending aortic aneurysm.

She will be hospitalized for at least a week following surgery and will need up to 3 months of cardiac rehab after surgery.

She and the family have been so grateful for all of the love and support from all of you for the last almost 3 years!

Many people have asked for ways to meet the needs for the family for the next couple months. Praying for them is our biggest priority, but we wanted to give friends/family the opportunity to contribute!

These funds will be used for:
—surgery/rehab costs not covered by insurance
— food/travel expenses
— any cost associated with care of their huge dog, Ranger
