I am starting this fundraiser for our dear friend Teresa as she begins a battle against stage 4 small cell lung cancer.

Teresa started out as a coworker and quickly became what felt like family. I’m sure that's a familiar story for most of the people in her life.

Teresa is a mother, wife, woman of faith, daughter, sister, grandmother, doggie mom, and an incredible friend to many. She also serves her community through her career in healthcare as an MRI tech which is where her Wilmington family grew to know and love her.

She is one of the most hardworking and selfless people I’ve ever met. She was constantly working double shifts, staying late, going above and beyond for her patients, and commuting an hour one way to do it all. This wild woman was still trying to pick up shifts even after her diagnosis! Aside from her work ethic and generous heart Teresa has always been an open book, sharing stories of her family and her ongoing battle with scleroderma. She has always been a listening ear to others and quick to offer advice to friends in need. We were devastated when she told us she would be leaving Novant to work closer to home.

Teresa handles all of life's challenges with such grace and I have no doubt that beating lung cancer will be next on her list of accomplishments.
