The Kyotera Brass Band is a young organization and orphanage founded by local musician Tenywa Richard. He was brought up on the streets of Kampala and was helped and educated through a music charity operating as a band. He has dedicated his life to helping local street children in the South of Uganda survive and prosper through music, providing accommodation, food, and education to those with nothing. Through the Kyotera Brass Band organization, he provides housing, meals, music training, and education to 60+ children experiencing homelessness. It is not, however, supported through government funding.
Music makes a difference in the world. But in countries like Uganda, it's also about providing a safe place for children to live, a healthy meal, and an education. Currently, the organization needs a consistent source of funding. On average, they need $80 a week to feed the children, provide their necessities, and maintain the orphanage's operations. In addition, the organization needs money for additional musical instruments and to purchase land to grow their own food and build a permanent home.
Please consider donating to support Tenywa Richard and the Kyotera Brass Band, as they provide children with a safe place to live, food, medications, and an education. All funds raised will go directly to the Kyotera Brass Band organization.
