Tennessee Blaze is an 18U travel ball team based in Dickson, TN. The team is coached by Josh Curtis (Head Coach) and Stephanie Johnson (Assistant Coach). The Tennessee Blaze team focuses on more than just the game of softball; they prioritize the education, skill development, and personal growth of their young female athletes. Although they are a travel ball team, the experience they provide extends far beyond the sport, with a strong emphasis on personal development. The majority of their tournaments are college showcases, offering athletes exposure to college coaches. Tennessee Blaze is currently ranked #2 in B-Class and #16 in both A and B Classes.

About the Coaches

Josh Curtis, a native of Dickson, TN, played football at Dickson County High School and Tennessee Tech. He has been coaching the Tennessee Blaze team for four years and began coaching when his daughters showed an interest in softball. He took on the role of their coach in recreational leagues and has developed a special bond with all the young women he mentors. He is not only a "girl dad" but also a coach who is deeply invested in the well-being of his athletes.

Stephanie Johnson joined the coaching staff in 2023. She began her softball career at the age of 11, playing with boys in little league because her father was a coach. For her, softball was much more than a sport—it was life-changing. It gave her confidence, taught her teamwork, and fueled her passion for the game. Softball helped her earn a college education and shaped her from a young girl into the woman she is today.

Josh and Stephanie are dedicated to providing their athletes with the best possible foundation to prepare them for college and adulthood. They have helped several players commit to colleges in the past summer.

As the 2025 season approaches, Tennessee Blaze is seeking donations and sponsorships from individuals and companies. Last year, they had 15 company sponsors, and each sponsor was recognized with a company logo banner.

Entity Information

Tennessee Blaze is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization and relies on sponsorships to cover tournament fees and equipment costs. All coaches and assistants volunteer their time. The team is based in Dickson, TN, and competes in tournaments across Tennessee, as well as the USFA World Series in Panama City Beach each July. Sponsorship packages are available as follows:

Gold Sponsor - $1000

Gold sponsors receive their company name and logo on all Tennessee Blaze websites and tournament banners at each tournament.

Silver Sponsor - $500

Silver sponsors receive their company name and logo on all Tennessee Blaze websites and tournament banners at each tournament.

Bronze Sponsor - $250

Bronze sponsors receive their company name and logo on all Tennessee Blaze websites and a tournament banner displayed at each tournament.
