Support Tempest's Family in Their Time of Need

Hey!! My name is Tempest Byerly. I am a single mother of 2 beautiful children, Nori (5) and Lennox (3). We reside in Duncanville, TX.

In June, I took a leave of absence from my job due to my mental health declining. Upon returning to work, I was terminated for the exact same reason I was fired for, but they used the excuse of “Production not met” when my job was protected with the approved LOA and FMLA was approved as well. I filed for unemployment, but that was denied within 2 weeks because according to them, I was terminated.

Nevertheless, I kept the faith and attempted to withdraw my 401k, which has a balance of almost 3k, but that was denied to me because the company has a policy that states an employee has to be with the company for at least 3 years, and I had only been with them for 2 1/2 years. With my last check, I paid $1100 towards the rent and was expecting to receive the 401k to pay the rest and the following month, but I wasn’t able to get that money.

I started my business back up, but that didn’t go how I expected it to. I even called so many numbers looking for rental assistance with no success. I also lost my car in October. I went to eviction court on 11/8, and the judge gave judgment to the property. On 11/15, they will be filing the writ of possession to come throw us out. So here I am, putting my big ole pride to the side because my kids and I will be homeless soon if I don’t ask for help. I really hate asking for help, and I’ve never done something like this. It’s actually killing me to write this. We are asking for $5000 to keep us here until at least January.
