In April 2025, Tegan Pearson (Higlett) found Three small lumps on her breast—leading to a journey she never expected to take. Fear, confusion, and deep worry set in as she sought medical advice. By mid-May she was booked in for an emergency ultrasound, mammogram and biopsy. Unfortunately, the diagnosis was one she had tragically heard before: Cancer.
Having lost both of her parents to this cruel disease—one in 2013 and another in 2023—Tegan knew the weight of the battle ahead. She immediately booked further tests, and a biopsy confirmed Stage 1 breast cancer.
The doctors quickly scheduled a lumpectomy to remove the lumps, alongside a breast reduction in both breasts. However, further testing revealed that one of the lesions was Grade 3 and traces of cancer had been found in her lymph nodes. Now, she waits for results from a Genetic Blood Test, which will determine whether a full mastectomy is necessary.
On June 26th, 2025, Tegan’s treatment begins. The road ahead will be grueling, starting with hormone blockers, four cycles of chemotherapy, and three weeks of intensive radiation. She will undergo blood tests, scans, and Goserelin injections, all while attending countless medical appointments. Amid all this, she remains a devoted mother to Bentley and wife to Tim—a testament to her strength and resilience.
