The beloved Mark Richards was taken from us far too soon in a sudden and unexpected tragedy, leaving his family and everyone who knew and loved him heartbroken. It’s hard to put into words just how deeply he will be missed.

Mark was one of those genuinely good people who made the world a better place simply by being in it. He was kind, gentle and always willing to help anyone who needed it. Whether it was stopping for a chat or lending a hand, Mark had a way of making people feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. His kindness touched so many lives, and he will be remembered for the person he was and the difference he made to others.

Above all, Mark was Tegan’s soulmate and an amazing dad to their three beautiful children, Leo, Scarlett and Jensen. They were meant to grow old together, watch their children grow up and share the many milestones and memories still to come. Losing Mark so suddenly is an unimaginable heartbreak, and no family should ever have to face a future without someone so loved.

As Tegan navigates this devastating loss while caring for three children who have lost their dad, she is also facing the uncertainty and financial pressures that come with losing the primary income earner in their family.

I’ve created this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden. Donations will go towards funeral expenses, household bills, everyday living costs and the ongoing needs of the children as they grow up without their dad.

While no amount of money can take away their pain or fill the enormous hole Mark has left behind, easing the financial pressure will give Tegan some breathing room to grieve, care for herself and focus on Leo, Scarlett and Jensen.

Mark spent his life showing up for others with kindness, generosity and support. Now, I hope we can come together to show that same kindness to the family he loved more than anything.

More than anything, I want Tegan and the children to know they aren’t alone. They have people around them who love them and want to help them through the incredibly difficult days ahead. We can’t take away their heartbreak, but we can stand beside them and help carry some of the weight.
