Our sweet Ted (named after Ted “Theodore” Logan of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure) has faced a tough few months. Since May, we’ve spent over $6,000 on emergency veterinary care, including surgery to remove bladder stones and a second hospitalization when he blocked again right after surgery. Bladder stones can cause a life-threatening blockage in just a few hours, so we had no choice but to act fast.
Because emergency hospitals require payment upfront, a kind person stepped in with temporary funds so Ted could receive the surgery and critical care he needed. We are beyond grateful, and while they are able to temporarily hold that balance while we pay it back, being in the hole with this debt makes it much harder to keep up with Ted’s follow-ups and ongoing monitoring. His condition, Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD/FIC), is unpredictable and can recur at any time. Staying on top of testing, prescription diets, and regular check-ins is essential to preventing another emergency.
On top of Ted’s needs, his brother Loki has chronic pancreatitis, and our dog Wallace also requires regular care for hip dysplasia, allergies, and anxiety. I’ve always done everything I can for them and have spent thousands over the years managing their health. But after losing my job in February, this emergency hit at a time when our household finances were already stretched to the limit.
Your donation would help us:
Repay the emergency funds that covered Ted’s surgery and rehospitalization.

Relieve the financial strain so we can keep up with Ted’s unpredictable follow-up care and his ongoing prescription diet.

Ensure we can continue to provide for Loki and Wallace’s chronic care needs without falling further behind.

Even though the immediate emergency has passed, Ted’s condition remains unpredictable. Catching up now means we’ll be able to cover the smaller but essential costs that keep him safe — and continue managing the needs of all three of our pets.

We don’t take asking for help lightly. Any amount you can give goes directly to his care and makes a real difference for us. If times are tough for you as well we are sending solidarity and appreciate you spreading the word! Thank you for helping Ted recover and stay healthy! <3
