Hi, I'm Dan Gaidula. Many of you affectionately know my big brother Ted as "Mr. Ted", the Assistant Manager of a St. Louis convenience and gas store (named for a shape and a letter).
On September 25, he began coughing up blood. After 10 days of extensive tests he was diagnosed with Stage 4 non small cell lung cancer with SVC syndrome (a life-threatening condition where the tumor in his chest is pushing on the heart's return vein).
On Tuesday, October 7, Ted began a 10-day course of palliative radiation treatment to help his SVC syndrome by trying to shrink his tumor.
Unfortunately, Ted has no medical insurance. We have applied for both Federal and State assistance, but the bills are piling up. On top of this, on the day of Ted's first procedure, his beloved cat and only companion, Miss Kitty, developed liver disease and needed an expensive hospital stay and treatment.
Anything you can do to help him in this time of need would be greatly appreciated.
A Family United for Ted
Ted is lucky to have a massive support system behind him. While some of us carry different last names, we are a united front in this fight. This campaign is being managed by his four brothers:
- Dan & Alex Gaidula
- Robbie & JP Ounanian
We are coordinating across state lines—from Philly to Illinois to St. Louis—to ensure “Mr. Ted” has everything he needs to beat this.
