Update*~at the bottom

Hey, I am Faith. My husband Ted has been diagnosed with Stage II Prostate Cancer on 12/10/2024. This news has rocked our world. Ten out of the fourteen areas tested have tumors and levels higher than normal, making it Stage II.

Everyone loves Ted. He lights up the room, usually the smartest guy in the room, ha!, and will help anyone at any time. He is funny and compassionate and loves the Lord with all his heart.

As you can imagine, he is broken and losing hope. He is working two jobs just to meet the needs of our family.

Ted needs a PET scan on December 30, 2024. This scan will show the location of cancer anywhere else in his body. This is a vital test before surgery to try to remove it all. He will undergo surgery and possible radiation therapy after.

Here is the hardest part. We were not prepared for this tragedy. The scan costs $1,195 alone! He will be out of work for four weeks in recovery. We will owe 20% of the surgery plus try to keep food on our table. We are not sure how much any treatment will cost at this time.

After praying together, we felt this was the best way to ask for help. He is fighting for his life and right now he will have to cancel the scan and surgery because we either pay our mortgage or this.

We do not see the light at the end of the tunnel without your help. We need help to cover the scan, utilities, mortgage, medical expenses, his loss of pay from both jobs, and any unknowns.

I know our Savior always provides for our needs. So I humbly come before you, but as loud as I can, asking for you to pray and consider assisting my dear sweet husband Ted so we can fight cancer together. We love and truly appreciate anything you feel in your heart to give. Let’s kick cancer's ass! He deserves to live! Thank you.

Update*We go see the urologist on January 9th to schedule surgery. We can do surgery first and have the opportunity to come back to do radiation if needed if the cancer returns. He’s got a better chance that way they said. He is tired. Please continue to pray and share this out. We love and appreciate you more than you know.

Update*On March 20th Ted came down with a horrible tummy ache and couldn’t finish work. We thought it was just a virus. Over the next several days he experienced very high fever, throwing up, diarrhea, and we knew it was more than just a virus. Wednesday evening we did a telehealth appointment, Thursday morning, We went to urgent care and they sent him to the emergency room. After a full work up, Ted was diagnosed with diverticulitis. His colon is very inflamed with several pockets and he is on several medications to manage the symptoms and his pain due to the severity of his symptoms of the disease. The urologist rescheduled his surgery for his prostate cancer removal for May 5, 2025.

They say when it rains it pours. It seems like we can’t catch a break. It is a blessing that I have recovered mostly from my back surgery and that I returned to work yesterday. I am very grateful.

Please continue to pray that God will provide because as you know, bills don’t stop flowing in just because someone is out of work. Please continue to pray over Ted‘s health and complete healing in his body. Please continue to pray over favor in our finances and in our family. We adore Ted so very much and he is such a wonderful man husband and father. Thank you for standing with us in prayer and supporting us as we walk through this journey.

Blessings,
The Heumann Family
