Help Ted Syres Recover After a Devastating Motorcycle Accident

On the morning of 7/7/2026, our lives changed in an instant.

Ted Syres was on his way to work when a vehicle pulled out in front of his motorcycle. He had no time to avoid the collision. Ted struck the truck and was thrown from his bike, suffering major injuries.

First and foremost, we want to thank God for sparing Ted’s life. We are incredibly grateful that he is still with us, but the road to recovery will be long and difficult.

Ted was rushed to the trauma center in Mobile, Alabama, where doctors discovered he had sustained a broken right leg, several broken ribs, badly bruised lungs, severe road rash, and multiple deep lacerations that required stitches. He also suffered significant damage to his hand, and doctors believe they may need to amputate the tip of his ring finger. His broken leg was placed in traction before surgery to keep the bones aligned, and he has undergone surgery to begin repairing his injuries.

Thankfully, his surgeon reported that the operation went well. However, Ted will be confined to a wheelchair for at least the next eight weeks, with months of rehabilitation and recovery still ahead.

As you can imagine, this unexpected tragedy has created an overwhelming financial burden. Between hospital stays, surgeries, ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, medications, lost wages, travel expenses, and everyday household bills, the costs are quickly adding up. During this time, we want Ted to focus on healing—not worrying about how these expenses will be paid.
