Ted Peeples is known for his oceanic heart and his selflessness. Friends know they can count on him in a crisis. He will drop everything to help you move or to pick you up at the airport. He's that kind of true-blue friend -- a mensch, a kind and gentle soul you can count on. Ted is also a hard-working, conscientious, law-abiding citizen, but, like a lot of people, he uses a small amount of marijuana to medicate his anxiety. (He is not a dealer.) Most parts of the country have eased up in their legal attitudes toward cannabis -- you can buy THC gummies at any convenience store; that is simply marijuana in a different form. This part of northeast Georgia, though, still has some retrograde policies. A hard-line judge wanted to sentence him to 30 years for a minuscule amount of weed! Because of these inconsistent, Kafkaesque laws, Ted, a sensitive soul who would not harm a fly, is being held indefinitely in the White County Jail. So he is unable to work. It is embarrassing to ask like this, but we frankly need help. We just do not have the resources to address this crisis. Any amount you give will go directly toward helping Ted. Please be the friend to him that he would be to you. Thank you all very much, and God bless.
